'I have been spinning for over 10 years and I have always tried to play all requests. It’s my job as a Dj to play what the crowd wants to hear. If the song requested is horrible I will simply “announce” that this next song is by request. Then if the track bombs, I am out of trouble. So many Dj’s complain about requests but I have always believed it to be my job to take and play em even for a second, wait for the requester’s “yeah!” scream and simply move on with your night.'

Lol. True, and I’ll say something even broader.

At the end of the day, your job is to play music for people, and people is what matters, much more than music. Music in this case is just a tool to get people to react. Music is the most incredible and powerful way to alter the consciousness of people and get them together, and bring joy to them. '

today is one of those days i want to do and have everything now and all at once.

just to clarify....

i've started a new blog in the form of the old one.

mommabeatnik is now primarily word driven. i'll use it to post rants, quotes, music, websites, projects i'm still convinced i'll finish someday, etc...
kind of a personal moleskine in iternet form.

8921 is image driven - solely and exclusively. i'll have a list of links to other artists, and the images shall be mostly mine, sometimes googled (ha...you've been verbed!).
as far as any cohesive themes throughout, i'm not sure there shall be any, except, of course, light.

the latter blog is an attempt to simplify; to strip away the excess and leave only concentrated matter. because when i am confronted with an image that strikes me both physically and spiritually, words clutter and distract. superfluous. uneccesary.
